Septic-safe and sensitive-skin toilet roll: what brands actually claim
We're a price comparison, not a medical or plumbing authority. So instead of making claims, this page sets out exactly what each brand says on its own product page, alongside the price.

If you have a skin condition, ask a pharmacist or GP what to use. If you have a septic tank or a composting toilet, check with the tank's manufacturer or your servicing company. Several brands below say the same.
Septic tanks
All three eco brands make a septic claim. Who Gives A Crap says its bamboo rolls "play well with most septic tanks" and suggests its recycled roll if your system is particularly sensitive to bamboo. Bumboo says "septic tank safe". Cheeky Panda says its paper "works with most septic tanks" and suggests checking with your septic tank provider if you're unsure. The Andrex, Cushelle, Tesco and Aldi pages we checked don't mention septic tanks either way – which doesn't mean they're unsuitable, only that they don't say.
Sensitive skin
Look for what's left out as well as what's claimed. Eco brands mostly say "no inks, dyes or fragrance". Andrex Skin Protect goes the other way: it adds a lotion and has a lightly fragranced core. Whether that suits you is personal, which is why we just report it.
